Support that meets you where you are
How Can I Help You?
Many people believe that taking control over their persistent pain is just not possible, but I believe that with the right strategies for your body and lifestyle, you have the ability to live the life you want and feel better doing it. An individualized, holistic approach to addressing your pain will allow you to be in control of your life again.
You may have been told you have fibromyalgia, chronic pain, tension headaches, that you have too much stress, "we don't know why you are hurting," or maybe you have received different diagnoses. The diagnosis itself doesn't matter as much to me as knowing that you are suffering, and I can provide the help you deserve.
Living with pain is not easy. When pain is persistent it starts to impact everything you do and who you are - sleep, work, time with family, your mood and stress levels, doing the activities you use to enjoy. It can be exhausting and isolating.
If you find yourself suffering with pain, having trouble concentrating, feeling fatigued, and feeling helpless to make changes, know you are not alone.
I teach people who are feeling frustrated with living in pain the tools they need to get back to enjoying life.
The most important things I want for my clients is to feel heard and know that with the right strategies they can live with less pain and frustration. I believe through mutual honesty, compassionate communication, and being present we can use holistic strategies to help you as a person - you are not just a diagnosis.
Get To Know Me
I'm Kathryn Moulison, but you can call me Katie. I've been a physical therapist since 2011 and I'm passionate about helping my clients find the right strategies to get their lives back. I have seen the impact that persistent pain has and don't want anyone to suffer longer than they need to. I specialize in women and female-assigned bodies but am open and affirming to people of all gender identities.
I believe in the power of education.
I am committed to life long learning - from learning to bake sourdough bread to pursuing a therapeutic pain specialist certification; from finding ways to train my rescue dog, a chocolate lab named Maggie, to teaching yoga; or reading or listening to podcasts to find new strategies to take care of my own health as well as support my clients.
I know the evidence that education alone, about why you have pain and what can be done about it, can help you feel better.
The way I provide physical therapy may be a little different than what you are used to. I meet you where you are, literally and figuratively.
Since we know how powerful education can be, and I empower my clients to take an active role in their own health, you can receive excellent care even if we aren't in the same room. If we mutually decide that you require in person care or hands on treatment, or if you don't like telehealth, I can come to you in your home or office.
I want to make it easy for my clients to get the support they need to live their fullest lives.
During your first visit, I may not talk much, because I want to hear your story. I want to know what you are feeling, how it impacts your life, and what your goals are. From there we will talk about what we can do to get you on the path of feeling better, starting from where you are.
Work With Me Wherever You Are:
Telehealth and In-home/In-office Appointments
All services are provided where you are. Don't worry about missing work, arranging childcare, or getting home to take the dog out. We can decide together what the best option is for you - telehealth, in-home, or a combination of both.
Evaluations and follow ups can be scheduled via telehealth. In many cases, you can receive the same quality of care through telehealth physical therapy. If at any point I believe that you cannot receive the same quality of care through telehealth physical therapy, we will discuss an in-home visit or referral to another physical therapist.
This type of model encourages you to take an active role in your care by helping with goal setting, providing education on strategies for pain management, teaching you exercises, or helping you strategize for how to do your day to day activities with less pain. One of the advantages of telehealth is that I can see your home environment during the session and provide individualized advice.
In-home or In-office
Evaluations and follow up sessions can also be scheduled in your own home or office. This allows you to receive in person care, without having to use your valuable time for travel.
I am happy to schedule in-home/in-office sessions in Reading, North Reading, Lynnfield, Middleton and surrounding communities.
At this time, I am not putting any specific barriers around the distance that I will travel. If you are interested in in-home sessions, I recommend you schedule a free strategy call. We can discuss if in-home/in-office services are an option for you. Even if you are further away than I would typically travel, there may be an exception if I believe you may only need a few visits or if we are doing a hybrid model with telehealth.
All sessions are one hour in length. During your first session, you will have time to tell your story, I will ask questions as needed to get clarity, and then we will then go through an examination. We will conclude with discussing the best plan of care for you, and a couple strategies for you to implement right away to take control of your pain.
Unsure if working with me is right for you?
Schedule a free strategy call with me! This is a 20-30min call where we will mutually determine if working together is right for us. We will review the challenges you are facing, and what next steps you can take to help you to address your goals.
